A lot of things go into bringing a website online. We wanted to take an opportunity to highlight some of the key components for you and how they work!
Website Hosting
In order for your website to be available online, it must be “hosted.” This means that the files making up the site must be sitting on a server, which is an actual computer, or “cluster” of computers, with special software for receiving and responding to requests on the Internet. The servers are connected to very fast Internet service, making the site available to the world. The cost of hosting covers the cost of the equipment used, maintenance and upgrades, as well as the cost of that very fast Internet service. Website hosting also includes your e-mail addresses and any databases required by your site.
Our website hosting plan is designed to meet the needs of virtually any website out there. The plan includes unlimited e-mail addresses and plenty of space for your site to grow over time. We call it The ONE Plan. We offer the plan in four convenient billing cycles which are discounted based on your commitment.

Domain Names
A domain name is the www.yourcompany.com, .net, .org, .biz, etc. which people type into their browsers in order to reach your site. Your hosting company, ThoseGeeks, partners with a domain name registrar to purchase/renew your domain name(s). The cost of a domain name goes directly to covering the cost of the hosting provider to buying, renewing, and managing the domain name for you.
Domain names are purchased and renewed based on your hosting plan cycle selection.

Website Design
Website design is the actual building of your site files prior to them being hosted. This means discussion of your online goals, content development, graphics considerations, and everything else which goes into making a great site for your customers. After these things are discussed, your website designer goes to work building the site.
